The Emperor Double Edge Katana by Cold Steel is a stunning representation of Japanese sword design. It incorporates traditional materials such as nickel-silver for the guard, collar, and pommel, all expertly crafted. The blade collar, known as Habaki, is also hand-made from nickel-silver. The hilt is covered in samé, or ray skin, and tightly wrapped with black silk cord in the traditional style. To add to its beauty, a small ornamental sculpture called Menuki is inserted between the ray skin and cord wrappings. The Emperor swords feature fully sharpened blades made of 1060 carbon steel, which undergoes heat treatment to achieve a tough spring temper. Finally, the blade is meticulously hand-finished with a mirror polish applied to the fuller.
